Shared Stones

Some shared stones are easy to understand. Husband and wife.....or like this first stone of Charlie and Minnie Fox. Children gone before thier time. The second stone is of Joel Searl and Elizabeth Beckwith. When i see a stone like this i wonder are these two people related somehow.

John Kenedy

I wonder if this man is related to the late president.

Zeiter Cemetery

I do not know if you have gone to Zeiter Cemetery in Mansfield, Ohio. Its avery sad little cemterey. A lot of the stone have either fallen over or been knocked over. When i see a graveyard that is still been used with tall grass and stones knocked over it just pisses me off. If it was my families last resting place ...i don't know what i would do.

Went cemetery hunting today. We hit Ruggles Cemetery near Norwalk. It behind a farmers field on private property [yes we asked first]. If the corn was up we would of never saw it. I worry about cemeteries like this that someday they will get lost to time. Also went to St. Mary's in Norwalk, Florence Township Cemetery on state route 113 And Baptist Cemetery in Berlin Heights. I love small almost lost cemteries. If any anybody knows of any in north central ohio I would love to hear about them.

Tombstone Tuesday

This stone is at the Ohio Solders and Sailors Home Cemetery. The newer stones have dates this one simply reads Charles Quinn U. S. Navy. I come from a long line veterans. I wonder when he lived if he served in wartime or peace time. Veterans grave always get me. In some places they are held in honor. The local boy scouts with tend the grave or even raise money to get a new stone. I feel every stone and person should get such respect. So many have sacrificed everything for so many.

Oheb Shalom Cemetery and Erie County Home Cemetery

First Erie County Home Cemetery....well there just a monument. It is fenced area no trees no flowers no markers. It was in use from 1886 till 1976. I have not found any listings for any one buried there. I made a find a grave posting for it. Oheb Shalom is right next door. It is a small cemetery that seems still active. It is well taken care of.
